Winter Mood board

Winter is fast approaching. Our Alice Springs winters tend to be mild, with freezing (below zero!) nights but warmish (above 20!) days. While winter brings on images of wet, grey days, our days are sunny so yellow came to mind when I thought of our days. I love wearing all the cozy clothes - ugg boots and chunky cardigans are my thing, with warm scarfs for the outdoors. Cuddling in bed, hot coffee and fires. Do you love winter? I love it in Alice, because it only lasts for the blink of an eye and then it's back to summer! Bring it on.

Link Love - Tv, Dates & Indoor Plants

This Australia Day was a lot more mellow than past Australia Days. For over a decade we have celebrated Australia Day at our friend's parent's house, with his dad cooking us all a wonderful BBQ and his mum made sure we all ate some salad. Our friend's dad passed away in October after a very short battle with cancer. When it came time for Australia Day plans we all weren't quite sure what to do. In the end his brother had a party at his place, but we all kept to ourselves. We invited a few close friends over at the last minute. Most already had plans to stay in so our gathering ended up small, but lovely. What did you get up to? The middle of the week day off really is a bit of a nothing day, hey? Best taken easy.

I do not have much success with indoor plants, so this guide on Cupcakes & Cashmere is extremely useful! Turns out I can have cacti inside IF the space has lots of light. Our bathroom ticks that box, yay!

The weekend has rolled around yet again. I'm taking a long weekend this weekend as my brother is in town. We plan to do a lot of swimming with 40 degree temperatures predicted for most of the weekend.  A few waterholes and a lot of our swimming pool. Hope you stay cool this weekend!

Beautiful sunset drive through the West MacDonnell Ranges
Some weeks the weekend comes at just the right time. We have had too many nights of broken sleep with Lulu up crying out & coughing. We're all just a little too tired to keep soldiering on with work. Luckily the weekend has hit and we can turn our attention to jobs around the house. The washing has piled up again, the weeds need pulling and floor needs cleaning. What's on your job list this weekend? It feels as though as soon as you cross one job off the list it pops back up again, like you've just finished the floors and then bam they're dirty again. Agh.
