We've once again hit the weekend! I've collected a few long reads that I have loved and am hitting you with them all on the one weekend, you're welcome! Happy Weekend x
Love this post from Emily Henderson about lifestyle blogs and that 'Effortless Expensive' look they pedal. I recently came across a post on a blog titled 'how I styled my nursery in under 20 hours' - when you click on it you find that she had a stylist (who in possibly also had a team with her) and an almost unlimited budget. Of course I could paint/wallpaper and buy things to fill a nursery in that amount of time with that amount of help!
And in Goop news, the fallout from the Goop Summit 'You can’t honestly address “wellness” – the things people need to be well – without addressing poverty and systemic racism, disability access and affordable healthcare, paid family leave and food insecurity, contraception and abortion, sex work and the war against drugs and mass incarceration. Unless, of course, you are only talking about the wellness of people whose lives are untouched by all of those forces. That is, the wellness of people who are disproportionately well already.' - Lindy West in the Guardian (more here)
In more Goop news - This Dr Jen has been rebutting Goop 'miracle' cures for a while now but Goop has seen fit to attack her on their blog - her well thought out response here
Why have I not come across Fashion Critical before? A friend gave me the heads up on the weekend. Fashion Critical's take on the Pollies MidWinter Ball is funny as!
